| Abstract: | In Medieval Neoplatonism the
concept of causality is commonly associated
with that of manifestation in order to give an
account of the divine creation of the world as
a theophany. This collection of essays, ranging
from Eriugena to Eckhart, confronts the
central issue of explaining the way in which
the Absolute—Being, Good and Unity beyond
any other being—can communicate its
being to creatures, and on the basis of this explanation,
what the metaphysical status of
otherness or alterity will be. |
